A Small Business Story

There are
many stories in the news these days about Fortune 500 companies laying people off. Last week I met Melissa Turner who started her own company and is working to make her American dream a
reality.
Melissa is the CEO of Mainstream Services, a medical billing company. Most medical bills are paid by insurance companies these days. Melissa’s company specializes in
getting the insurance companies to pay healthcare providers the correct reimbursement on a timely basis. She says, “Our goal is to ensure our physicians and their staff can focus on the quality
medical care they provide to their patients with the peace of mind that Mainstream Services are focusing on their medical claim processing needs.”
The insurance companies have very exacting standards and if a claim is not submitted correctly it can result in delayed payment or rejection of the claim. This can eventually cause the doctor to lose
revenue, take on additional patients to make ends meet, bill patients in error impacting their relationship, even though the procedure was covered by insurance. This can also lead to rising costs for
everyone.
Our elected officials in Washington are debating changes to our health care, and trying to reduce the costs of insurance for everyone. Small business owners like Melissa Turner who understand the
system of health insurance and medical bill payments could help them understand the results of the laws they pass.
Melissa offers a generous referral bonus to anyone who refers her company to their doctor and a great discount off the first month of service for all new clients.
